Los Angeles-based American actress Shree Grace Crooks has many forms of art that move through her. She loves to sing, and act, draw, dance, design, and imagine. Her professional Acting career has had an incredible amount of grace and has found her acting amongst staggering talent. Her first television role was at age seven when she booked a series regular in Extant, produced by Steven Speilberg and starring Halle Berry. Her next series regular job was to play Aubrey on Ray Donovan where she played the side kick of the legendary Jon Voight. Next she was cast as Scarlett on American Horror Story, playing the daughter of Wes Bentley and Chloe Sevigny.
Shree was nominated for a SAG award in her first feature film along side her remarkable cast in Captain Fantastic. Playing Zaja, one of the daughters of Ben (Viggo Mortensen) and Directed by Matt Ross, is one the most inspiring projects she has been able to work on. Other film credits include in Young Maureen in The Glass Castle with Bree Larson, Woodie Harrelson, and Naomi Watts, the title role in feature film Stephanie, directed by Akiva Goldsman, Milkshake, written and directed by Brittany Snow, and Little Match Girl, directed by Björne Larson.
Working in the world created by Director Björne Larson in Little Match Girl was tremendous for Shree. Getting to drop into an entirely different time and place was made so accessible and so much fun due to the playful and creative way Björne led Shree into the role. They would meet for rehearsals and play imagination together. Through play and exploration they found personal touchstones throughout the arch of the story. Once on set, Shree felt closer to the simple wonder of her character than she did the fast paced times of a life in Los Angeles. Shree is so excited to share this film with the world, and to get to play a part in opening minds more deeply to the treasure of the most important relationships in life, and into intimacy with the innocent love of the child mind.
If you ask Shree today what her favorite role that she has gotten to play is, she would probably answer The Witch in Into The Woods at her Summer Theatre Conservatory. Seems she is a thespian at heart.
